Freedom Town, Kuwait, March 03, 2015: Jazeera Airways today released its January 2015 Operational Performance Report, which showed a 22% increase in total flown passengers from January 2014.
The 22% increase of flown passengers in January follows consecutive increases in November 2014, and December 2014, which were up 7% and 10% respectively from the same months last year.
Jazeera Airways issues its Operational Performance Report on a monthly basis. The Report is based on official figures and statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA).
On routes serving Istanbul, Beirut, and Amman, Jazeera Airways saw a 32% increase in flown passengers from January 2014. The increase was driven by a strong continued demand for Amman and Beirut as well as the upgrade of flights to Istanbul from a seasonal schedule to a permanent schedule since May 2014.
Flown passengers also increased on routes serving Egypt by 20% from January 2014 despite Jazeera Airways serving five Egyptian cities during the month, compared to six cities in January 2014. The decrease in number of served cities follows the temporary closure of Assiut International Airport for renovations since June 2014.
On routes serving the Gulf cities of Dubai, Bahrain, Jeddah and Riyadh, Jazeera Airways saw a 20% increase in flown passengers, compared to January 2014.
