Jazeera Airways reports June 2014 Operational Performance

June 2014 highlights:

  • Kuwait-Istanbul route: 54% increase in flown passengers from June 2013
  • Kuwait-Sohag route: 74% increase in flown passengers from June 2013
  • Kuwait-Jeddah route: 3% increase in flown passengers from June 2013
  • Kuwait-Alexandria route: 3% increase in flown passengers from June 2013

Freedom Town, Kuwait, August 19, 2014: Jazeera Airways released its June 2014 Operational Performance Report today, which shows an increase in flown passengers on routes serving Istanbul, Sohag, Jeddah and Alexandria.

Jazeera Airways issues its Operational Performance Report on both a monthly and annual basis. The Report is based on official figures and statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The airline continues to lead with a 36% market share on the Kuwait-Amman route against three other carriers serving the route.

Jazeera Airways saw a 54% increase in flown passengers on the Kuwait-Istanbul route from June 2013, and grabbed a 7% market share on the route. The airline serves the city’s primary airport, Istanbul Atatürk Airport (IST) with five flights a week.

Flown passengers on the Kuwait-Jeddah route increased in June 2014 by 3% from June 2013. The airline grabbed a 21% market share on the route.

Jazeera Airways serves six cities in Egypt*. The airline led on the route serving Luxor with a 60% market share, and grabbed a 27% market share on the Kuwait-Cairo route, a 19% market share on the Kuwait-Alexandria route, a 43% market share on the Kuwait-Sohag route and a 69% market share on the Kuwait-Sharm El Sheikh.

Flown passengers on the route serving Sohag increased by 74% from June 2013, and 3% on the route serving Alexandria.

The June 2014 report also shows that Jazeera Airways grabbed a 36% market share on the Kuwait-Beirut route, a 12% market share on the Kuwait-Dubai route, a 10% market share on the Kuwait-Bahrain route, a 9% market share on the Kuwait-Riyadh route, a 15% market share on the Kuwait-Mashhad route, and an 18% market share on the Kuwait-Al Najaf route.
