July 2013 highlights:
- Market share leader to Amman (42%) for the fourth month in-a-row
- Market share leader to Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh (55%), Luxor (71%), Sohag (44%)
- Kuwait-Jeddah route: 6% increase in flown passengers from July 2012
- Kuwait-Mashhad route: 41% increase in flown passengers from July 2012
Freedom Town, Kuwait, September 1, 2013: Jazeera Airways today released its July 2013 Operational Performance Report, which shows that the airline’s flown passengers to the cities of Jeddah and Mashhad during the month of Ramadan have increased from July last year. The airline also continued to lead on routes serving Amman, and Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor and Sohag.
The July report, which is based on official figures and statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA), shows a 6% increase in flown passengers between Kuwait and Jeddah, and a 41% increase between Kuwait and the city of Mashhad.
The airline grabbed a 21% market share on the Kuwait-Jeddah route, reflecting an increase of 5% from the same month last year, and a 26% market share on the Kuwait-Mashhad route, reflecting an increase of 8% from the same month last year.
Jazeera Airways was the leading airline for the fourth month in-a-row serving the Kuwait-Amman route during the month of July 2013, grabbing a 42% market share, an increase of 5% from the same month last year.
The report also shows that the airline was once again the leading airline serving the Egyptian cities of Sharm El Sheikh with a 55% market share, Luxor with a 71% market share and Sohag with a 44% market share.
On the rest of its Egyptian routes, Jazeera Airways grabbed significant market shares of 42% on the Kuwait-Assiut route, 22% on the Kuwait-Cairo route, and 20% on the Kuwait-Alexandria route.
To Beirut, Jazeera Airways grabbed a 41% market share on the route, an increase of 8% in market share from the same month last year.
To Dubai and Bahrain, Jazeera Airways respectively grabbed 11% and 8% market shares in July 2013.
