Jazeera Airways reports January 2014 Operational Performance

January 2014 highlights:

  • Kuwait-Amman route: 15% increase in flown passengers from January 2013
  • Kuwait-Riyadh route: 43% increase in flown passengers from January 2013
  • Kuwait-Jeddah route: 16% increase in flown passengers from January 2013
  • Kuwait-Alexandria route: 22% increase in flown passengers from January 2013
  • Kuwait-Mashhad route: 18% increase in flown passengers from January 2013

Freedom Town, Kuwait, April 01, 2014: Jazeera Airways released its January 2014 Operational Performance Report today, which shows an increase in flown passengers on routes serving Amman, Jeddah, Riyadh, Alexandria and Mashhad, and an on-time performance of 94.83% as tracked by independent US-based OTP tracker, FlightStats.

Jazeera Airways issues its Operational Performance Report on a monthly and annual basis. The Report is based on official figures and statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The airline continued to lead with a 39% market share on the Kuwait-Amman route for the fifth month in-a-row against three other carriers serving the route. Flown passengers on the route increased by 15% from January 2013.

On routes serving Saudi cities of Jeddah and Riyadh, Jazeera Airways saw a 43% increase in flown passengers on the Kuwait-Riyadh route, and a 16% increase in flown passengers on the Kuwait-Jeddah route. The airline grabbed a 12% market share on the Kuwait-Riyadh route, and an 18% market share on the Kuwait-Jeddah route.

In addition to the 24% increase in flown passengers that Jazeera Airways saw on the Kuwait-Mashhad route in January 2013, flown passengers increased again in January 2014 by 18%. The airline grabbed a 20% market share on the route, against five other airlines serving the route.

Jazeera Airways served five cities in Egypt during the month of January 2014. The airline led on routes serving Alexandria with 22% market share and Luxor with a 70% market share. Flown passengers on the Kuwait-Alexandria route increased by 22%.

The airline also grabbed a 24% market share on the Kuwait-Cairo route, a 48% market share on the Kuwait-Assiut route, and a 41% market share on the Kuwait-Sohag route.

The January 2014 report also shows that Jazeera Airways grabbed a 39% on the Kuwait-Beirut route, a 13% market share on the Kuwait-Dubai route, and a 13% market share on the Kuwait-Bahrain route.
